can i walk from spanish steps to revi fountain in rome? 5 star hotel in that area?
 

I will be in Rome around new year and I would like to be close to the shopping of the spaanish steps and also near the magic of the trevi fountain. Are they close to one another walking? I am a starwood member so I can redeem my points by stating at the grand st regis or the excelsior. I would only consider them if they are walking distance to either of these sites.

Yup, they are all within walking distance.

You can walk anywhere in Rome it depends on how much walking you want to do. We always walk on our vacations - doesn't matter how close things are to each other, we enjoy the exercise and the great scenery from point A to point B. Have a wonderful time. Italy is the best. Shar

No doubt, this short distance would be almost the definition of easy walking distance. Quarter mile? or surely not more than half a mile. A similarly short distance is Trevi to Pantheon. Together, these make up two of the closet-to-each-other leading attractions in Rome.<BR><BR>I would not consider St Regis Grand nearly such a short distance to either (one-half to a full mile from the Spanish steps?) - and don't know Excelsior, nor its location.<BR><BR>The map at the bottom of the page at http://www.venere.com/it/roma/#map is &quot;clickable&quot; (as are the locations of many of the individual hotels) and you can look at the area around Trevi, around Piazza di Spagna, Pantheon, etc.<BR><BR>Best wishes,<BR><BR>Rex<BR>

<BR><BR>The Excelsior is on Via Veneto, almost directly across from the US Embassy. Easy walking distance to Spanish Steps and Trevi. <BR><BR>Enjoy Rome! . . Rich

Try the de la Russie nr pza. de popoloi, wonderful 5 star!!!<BR><BR>the walking distance is minimal to Spanish steps, trevi, pantheon, pza navonna,campo di fiore, vatican, via veneto..if you are a walker!

Yes, definitely a lovely walk.<BR>Try the Inn at the Spanish Steps for a small hotel, or the Hassler or the Dela Ville at the top of the Spanish Steps, for large grand hotels. There is also D&quot;Ingleterra, a short walk from the bottom of the steps, which is wonderful.<BR>Buon Viaggio

We stayed at the Excelsior in September and found it easy walking to the Spanish Steps area, and also Trevi Fountain. Be sure to visit the Borghese Gallery, another easy walk. <BR>Great restaurants in the vicinity, off Via Veneto. Personally, I found the Spanish Steps overcrowded and disappointing.

Was at the Trevi just last week. There is a hotel called Hotel fontana that faces the trevi. Have not stayed there but I suspect it may be a bit noisy cos both Trevi and spanish steps were packed with people both day and night.Only standing room available. The crowd just kept on coming, same goes with the pantheon.

Just on top of the spanish steps ,if money is not a problem,then go for the Hassler.<BR><BR>An other best kept secret is hotel d'ingliterra(full of charm and very exclusive as it is right in the middle of the hip shopping area of vie dei condotti.

Yup you can walk..also since you have starwood points hotel recommendations are not an issue. The steps, although located near all top shopping..are busy and just in case your points don't work..will drive up the cost of your hotel room needlessly.
