Can I validate Swiss Pass @ EuroAirport?
Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to validate my Swiss Pass at the Basel-Mulhouse airport. I'll be flying in from CDG w/Easyjet and want to be able to use the SBB bus to get into Basel, so that I can take the train to Berne. Anyway, if anyone has traveled through that airport before, any advice would be much appreciated. If it's too much of a hassel to get to the city's train station, I might just train it, but I figured an extra 2hrs site seeing might be worth it. Thanks.

It's not like you have any choice - the bus No. 50 connects the Euro airport with the Basel SBB station, I think non-stop. I don't think you can validate the Swiss Pass in the airport, but I assume that the 3,60 Fr for the bus won't kill your budget...

thanks altamiro. 3.60 fr isn't bad.

My alternative was to take a train directly from paris to berne, well with a connection in basel. The flight cost only $15 more, so I was thinking that it'd be worth it to fly instead. Probably will fly. the scenery through that part of france, imo, isn't too great. lots of farmland.

There are also direct trains from Paris to Bern (I think 2 daily) that wouldn't go through Basel. I would assume that it won't take more time to get from central Paris to Bern via the direct TGV than by flying into Basel and taking a train from there. In any case, if you go via Basel - flying or train only - I mean you won't be able to get past the SBB station anyway.
A couple hours in Basel are nevertheless certainly worth it.

I agree about the rather boring farmland, but as I just said, flying to Basel won't get you faster to Bern than a direct train from Paris (5 h), and you save yourself several changes (no pulling your luggage through the airports and so). In any case, the TGVs are going through fairly nice countryside (Jura) in the last 1 1/2 h before Bern. The train line Paris to Basel is boring all the way though.

Gosh, don't you just hate when the pros/cons balance out. Though maybe it's just me and my indecisiveness. Though I prefer flying, getting up at 5am in order to make it to CDG in time for check-in (flight departs st 8:20am) seems absolutely terrible. I get up at 6:30am on a normal day to commute, but this is supposed to be my vacation! At least with the train, I can wake up at 7:30am.
