Can I switch my Lon>Par Eurostar ticket?

I'm scheduled to be on Eurostar 9030 which leaves London at 1:41pm on a Tuesday. However, depending on how much time I have, I might want to get on an earlier train leaving at 12:09. When I bought the tickets it said I could exchange them without a charge for another fare of equal value. The 12:09 no longer has the same fare I bought the 1:41 at, but I'm wondering if there's a way to get around this. Should I ask at the counter when I pick up my ticket? Would it be possible to simply board the 12:09 train with my 1:41 ticket, and if so, what would the possible consequences be?

You cannot board an alternate Eurostar without changing your ticket. You have to go through passport control and all sorts of things and they wouldnt let you access the platform. I would assume you would just have to pay the fare difference which they could help you with when you pick up your tickets. Keep in mind that check-in closes a full 30 minutes before departure. They are fairly inflexible about this and I have seen many a person begging to go through to no avail. They might be 5 or 10 minutes flexible but I wouldnt push it and they wont change your ticket within 30 minutes of departure.

1) What type of ticket are you travelling on?
2) Have you read what Eurostar says about the type of ticket you are travelling on?

Until you do that & tell us we can't tell you anything useful

I agree w/ everything MorganB and alanRow say.

In addition, when you say "The 12:09 no longer has the same fare I bought the 1:41 at . ." I suspect you are on some sort of discounted excursion fare. If so, it is probably a totally non-changeable/non-refundable ticket. So if you wanted to take a different train you'd have to buy a new full-fare ticket. Not really worth it just to get to Paris 90 minutes earlier.
