Call the Uffizi at 011-39-055-294-883, during their office hours - M-F
8:30-18:30, Sat 9-12. You'll get a live, English-speaking person who will
give you a time and a reservation number. You don't have to leave your
credit card number. The whole call took maybe 3 minutes. I don't find the
tkt cost - making the reservation is 2.000 lire extra. I think the tkt is
around 12.000 lire. I didn't do it, but I think you can make reservations for other museums, too. If you're interested in the Vasari Corridor, which is over Ponte Vecchio, that number is 011-39-055-265-4321.

Use the web site recommended above to reserve your times. We did for the Accademia and it worked great. When we walked up to the Accademia for our 1 oclock reservation there was a very long, long line waiting. We showed our print out and walked right in. It was definitely worth the extra fee. The Uffizi seems to clear out in the evening and we walked right in. If you are pressed for time you are better off getting advance tix for that also. You pay a little more, but when you are there and see the lines, you do not mind at all.
