Can I bring wine in a checked bag to the UK from the US?

We are staying with friends for a couple of days and I wanted to bring a bottle or two of wine as a gift. Can I do this? Do I have to declare it?

TMK yes - wrap it good! But for definitive answer ask your airline.

Yes you can, up to 4 litres without needing to declare it.

You can also I believe buy Duty Free once inside security area and carry it on.

hetismij2 Aug 12th, 2017 12:15 PM

You can but Duty Free is not really a bargain. I assume marnie has a special wine in mind.

It has to be packed in the checked-in luggage.
