Can buy carte orange at airport?
Can we buy carte orange at airport? Through machine?
If we buy carte orange for zone 1-2, then get a ticket from CDG airport to zone 2 area, then only use carte orange to zone 1.
In this case, do we need to come out at the stop in zone 2? or zone 3? Which metro station?
Really appreciate your help!

A Carte Orange must be purchased at the RER ticket window, b/c you need both the photo/id card and the ticket itself. (Only the ticket can be bought via machine, and only with coins or chip credit card).
Zones 1-2 are fully Paris, so the 8€ RER ticket will take you completely into Paris center, and same ticket allows transfer at several stations to the metro lines.
If you plan to return to CDG, AND if your trip falls between Monday-Sunday, then you can just buy Carte Orange zones 5 for very near same cost and be done with it.
If you look at a network map of the Metro/RER system, any time you see a white circle or oval, that means the lines passing thru it can be reached on the same ticket. Stations on the RER-B with correspondences are Gare du Nord, Chatelet/les Halles, St Michel, Luxembourg, Denfert Rochereau.. maybe a couple more.

It sounds like you don't know much about them and have never bought one, so no, you can't buy one from a machine. You have to get an ID card, photo attached, etc., the first time.
If you only want to buy one for zones 1-2, what possible difference does it make if you buy it at CDG or not? You say you are going into the city and getting out at zone 2 anyway, so buy one there.

Well, they're going to the RER ticket window anyway to buy tickets into Paris, so might as well buy the C.O. at the same time.
Meltzy, my response mentions that the regular RER ticket from CDG into Paris costs about 8Euro. It covers the entire trip between CDG/Paris, not just to zone 2. You won't 'use' any of the C.O. - the RER ticket covers the entire trip. The 2-zone C.O. costs about 17Euro but doesn't cover you from CDG (zone 5).
If you decide to buy the C.O. *only* AND you want to use it to go from CDG to Paris, you need to buy one for 5 zones, about 31Euro. That will get you all the way into Paris, and you can then continue to use it while exploring Paris. A 5-zone C.O. covers Versailles and Disney also, if you were planning to go there.

A single ticket from CDG to central Paris costs €8.20. You could buy both a single ticket from CDG to zone 2 and a zone 1-2 Carte Orange at CDG which would allow you to go straight through to central Paris without having to get off at a zone 2 station. You would save a couple of euros compared to the €8.20 fare.
