Can anyone recommend an apartment in Venice?

We'll be going in September for one week and need a one bedroom apartment.

Many thanks.

We are staying at corte tiepolo, recommended by a friend. We arrive mid June. Looks lovely and we can't wait! http://www.cortetiepolo.com/eng/appart.php

We have stayed here, in the second floor apartment. It worked well for us. Owner is in San Francisco.

This company has excellent apartments and all dealings with them are prompt and efficient. Check out their one bedroom apts. as we always rent 2 bedrooms. Dorsoduro is our favourite sestiere.

We stayed at the Corte Tiepolo and loved it. Great location, in the San Polo district. Secluded and very quiet.

I have Corte Tiepolo bookmarked for a future trip, but can't see any prices on the site. Anyone know how much a night it is?

We've used Venice rentals http://www.venicerentals.com/ and been very happy with their selection, prompt replies, and arrival/greeting service.

I'm guessing Corte Tiepolo varies depending on the season, but I think it's about 250 Euro

I highly recommend this one (which was recommended to me by another Fodorite).

Not an agency. It's just one guy's apartment he rents out when he is not staying in Venice. It is very spacious, living room, separate BR, kitchen, balcony, AC, elevator and very nicely furnished. It is super convenient - a few blocks from San Marco, and has lots of room and a gorgeous view of two intersecting canals - 980 Euro/week (though it is also available by the night). Requires a hefty deposit to secure reservation and the balance is due 6 weeks out, but it is a fantastic value. We absolutely adored it.

This apartment is VERY popular and requires booking pretty far ahead (but rates remained the same for many years now).

Our cost for the Corte Tiepolo Valier apt was 780 for one week October 5-11, 2009.

Great apartment, location and owner. I've stayed there 5 times and plan on returning.

Try Casa Veronica. Stayed there a couple of years ago and it was very pleasant. Only problem was the bank transfers for the deposit were very expensive for us but they may have changed their arrangements since then.

Thanks for the posts regarding Corte Tiepolo, its always helpful to have a ball park figure to work on.

we spent a week at www.palazzettodaschio.it

it was a fab location not far from guggenheim museum.... apartments are large and fully equiped... good restaurants and grocery nearby... easy walk to all of the city....

Hi

You really need to state your budget (in euro). Maybe try browsing the list at http://www.viewsonvenice.com.

I second the Palazzo Foscarini, great apartment, neighbourhood, landlady ...

I think we paid 875 euro for a week in the ground floor apartment at Corte 1321. It's really a studio with a good kitchen area, but you do have the courtyard mostly to yourself apart from breakfast. It's close to San Silvestro vaporetto stop, not far from the Rialto (market side.)
