Can anyone help me to find my perfect hotel?

If anyone can help me you guys can! I long to find a small, quiet away from it all peaceful hotel. Ideally it will be perched on a clifftop overlooking the twinkling med below. It will have a small pool but will only have a few rooms. It needn't be particularly near anywhere because what I am looking for is peace and solitude. I work in a busy inner city secondary school and desperately need somewhere to just chill out! Any ideas?

Sorry. I left that a bit vague didn't I. I love Italy but Cap Ferrat is a possibility too. Has to be somewhere cheap because schools don't pay much money I'm afraid. Maybe a restaurant with rooms would suffice as long as it has nice views and a pool to relax by. I live in London so anywhere that I could escape for a weekend to I guess. Thanks for the help.

Look at Ravello, Italy. Great views and very little happening.

I'm not suggesting a hotel, because a) I don't know them from personal experience (I had lunch on the terrace of one hotel that had stunning views); b) you've given no indication of your price range.

I hadn't seen your message when I wrote mine: Villa Amore is small, inexpensive and has no pool; Hotel Ristorante Garden has only a few rooms and no pool.

I understand that Villa Amore does not have a Web site; the Web site for Hotel Ristorante Garden is:

http://www.hotelgardenravello.it/index.htm

You can look up both on www.tripadvisor.com.

Princess of Mykonos, a couple kilometres from Mykonos Town. In May or June.

Antik Tiyatro Hotel in Bodrum, Turkey. A handful of rooms that each seem like a separate villa. Each one has its own little patio covered with bougainvilla and they will serve your breakfast to you there each morning. A few steps below is a sparkling pool from which you have spectacular views of the village and the sea below. They will prepare dinner for you and serve it to you poolside. Ours was private when we were there until another couple showed up as we were finishing very late. Go in May or early June and you might have the place almost to yourself. Pay in cash and you also save. Not "cheap" but at 120 euro a night, it's hard to match for the price.

Well, wombat, it's not in the middle of nowhere, but the views are stunning and the prices quite reasonable at the Hotel Flots d'Azur in Nice. My room had a view of the Bay of Angels that was delightful during the day and gorgeous at night. They also served breakfast on a terrace that had a view.

Happy Travels,
BC

wombat, where are you? kind of hard for us to guess how far you want to travel when we don't know where you're traveling from. It would be nice also to have let us known it was just for a weekend, not a summer vacation. If you're in the states and don't want to travel far, perhaps this should be posted on the US board. You did indicate the "med below".

Apologies for any confusion Patrick. I did say earlier up the string that I lived in london and was looking for somewhere for a weekend but realise that I didn't say in the first post of the string. Sorry.

Hello Ira - anytime between april and october really. Just need an escape. We have been fortunate enough to find our hg in tuscany and try to escape there but it would be lovely to find somewhere overlooking the sea. Thanks.

Hi W,

We very much liked our stay at the Le Sirene in Praiano.

They don't have a pool but you can walk down to the town beach.

Ask for room 12. It has a large, private balcony with a lovely view.
