Can anyone confirm this Paris restaurant closing?

La Bucherie, was/is at 41 rue de la Bucherie
in the 5th. One of my old favorites.
In case they are still open I don't want to waste a phone call, but I'd love to know if they are still there--recently someone said here they'd heard it had closed.
Any suggestions on no-cost way to verify?

Elaine, Is this the one 2 doors down from Shakespeare and Co.? I always enjoy it too. Cheap way to call Paris, 10-10-987. It's only 3 cents a minute after a 39 cent connection fee.

If you find out, I hope you'll post.

La Bucherie, telephone: 01 43 54 24 52.

Is this it? I called the place sometime ago and was told there had been a change of management. It is now called Café something (sorry I don't remember)and serves brasserie-like dishes such as choucroute.

Hi elaine

La Bucherie is not listed at http://pagesjaunes.voila.fr/pj.cgi

Cafe Leffe now occupies that site.

Here is the web site of a gypsy/jazz musical group that is playing there next week

http://www.lapalinka.com/

It is clearly a new place (with music) named Cafe Jeffe.

uh, Cafe Leffe. Might be a good place for people looking for live music in that area, though. They sound like Django Reinhardt type music

Oh dear, plus ca change.

It would be nice to think that the food is still good, and that the fireplace is still in use. The interior didn't strike me as large enough to be a music venue, but I guess intimacy is the key.

Elaine, I went there about 2 years ago & loved it; they served the most wonderful seabream with lightly steamed julienned veggies. Such a warm, cozy atmosphere, too.
I noticed it on your famous Paris file & wanted to try it my 1st trip but it was closed the Monday I checked it out.
This past trip while researching, noticed that the name had changed but that the phone # was the same. I stopped by briefly in April but was too shy to actually go in to see if the name was changed but the management was still the same.

It was such a nice place!!
