Hi, give this company a look
http://www.spanish-trails.com/eng/faqs.htm. A young
couple from the U.S. owns it. They
have wonderful daytrips. Right off
Las Ramblas.

Montserrat sounds really good. I am reseraching more on that.
Katiemay-- Spanish Trails sounds wonderful as well; a bit pricey, but really tempting.
On that note: Carcassonne...anyone?

Spanish venues as in Spanish tour companies? I was hoping to get ideas here. I need to confess that while I have been to Spain many times, I've never been to Barcelona.
Three-hour drive each way....tough call.
What about Tarragona?...anybody?

Viajero, Colliure is a picturesque fishing village just getting into France from Spain. It's beautiful in itself but most spaniards visit it because it is where the famous spanish poet Antonio Machado is buried.
You can also visit in Spain Figueras (where the Dali Museum is), Tarragona and in the south of Tarragona province if you are interested in Art, the romanic monasteries, they are really wonderful and also the burial place of the Catalonia kings.

I loved the entire Costa Brava area--especially Pals and Girona. Depends on what you like, but either would be easy daytrips. Also, if you haven't been to Barcelona before--well, there's SO MUCH to see there as well. For me, the highlight of Montserrat was hearing the boys' choir--daily at 1.
