Camera Suggestions
 

Going to London soon. Want to buy a nice digital camera for the trip - one that captures clear pictures of Parliament, taken in the rain from across the river; but also doesn't weigh a ton, require super careful handling or a genius to work. Willing to spend around $500-600. Looking for any suggestions as to makes and models, and websites that have the product at a decent price. Any thoughts? Thank you.....

I just bought a digital camcorder and used Epinions quite a lot to help me decide which brand and model to buy.

I read hundreds of reviews all over the web before selecting a Ricoh RDC-7. I LOVE this camera. It was easy to learn to use and takes fabulous photos with the automatic settings. We even got a short video of the Tour Eiffel twinkling. I also highly recommend CompuPic for storing and editing photos. Mine hardly ever need to be "fixed", but when they do, it's amazing what that software can do!

<BR> <BR>I bought a Olympus C-3000 last spring and it has worked out well. One issue with digitals is what to do if you fill the storage media (smart card in my case) I pack a notebook pc when I travel so I just download the days photos to the notebook and start over. The larger the storage media is the less of a problem this is, but if you take many photos you can fill it in a few days. <BR> <BR>I bought a second 64mg card just in case, but have never needed it since I download to the laptop daily. <BR> <BR>The c-3000 is going for about $600 these days. I bought mine at Best Buy. <BR> <BR>Hope this is helpfull . . Rich

HI! I just bought a new Nikon 775 which is a very small affordable digital camera. It is just a bit larger than a credit card, has 2.1 megapixels, automatic as well as a variety of exposure setting, come with rechargable batteries and a charger, etc. I really like the camera. It takes great pics. The price is $449 at retail but i bought it online from a company called www.compuplus.com for $359. When you decide on a model, check out pricewatch.com to find the lowest on-line price. I don't buy any computer related stuff without at least checking there first.
