Camera - Paris

I will be in Paris in a month, I have never been and of course will be bringing my only camera which is on the expensive side. I have read several post here about theft and pick pokets. Of course I plan on being aware of my surrounds etc. Should I be concerned about my camrea?

No

No more so than any other public place, including your home town I would assume. Just take normal precautions and you will be fine. Paris is wonderful. Enjoy.

No. Just provide reasonable care and be aware of your surroundings. You'll have a wonderful time. Bring lots of film/digital memory.

Yes, you should be concerned about your camera, and be on high alert, particularly in the metros, where theft/pickpocketing is quite common. You need to be more concerned in Paris of your wallet and camera than you do in your home town-but the problem spot in Paris is the metro system.

Not necessarily-- depends where your home town is.

Certainly more than in any city in the US, that I can say.
