Calling all forum experts!
We are planning a trip in Sep/Oct of 2008 that will include a few days in Rome followed by a cruise out of Venice and then meeting up with 8-10 people to check out Oktoberfest and Salzburg for 3-4 days. Trying to figure out air travel to/from US,is it better to fly into Rome and then out of Munich or Frankfurt? or RT from Venice? or some other combination...Thanks for your help

If your first destination is Rome and your last is Munich or Salzburg, then it makes most sense to fly into Rome and out of Munich.
Oktoberfest dates for 2008 are Sept 20 to Oct 5. |

OK that makes sense, in fact, found flights into Rome out of Munich for $973, about the same as a RT from VCE.
We feel Oktoberfest is worth experiencing, and are planning to stay in Salzburg to escape crowds and save money and take the train for 1 day in Munich. Sound like a good idea? We are wondering what suggestions you might have for 3-4 days in the area. There are about 10 of us, so varied interests, but hiking of some sort would be agreeable... |
The main reason you have so few responses is your title has <u>nothing</u> to do w/ what you wanted. And now you've added yet another question that has nothing to do w/ your title.
I would definitely re-post w/ a title something like "3-4 days Salzburg and Oktoberfest in '08. Suggestions for a large group" |
Hi L,
>We feel Oktoberfest is worth experiencing, and are planning to stay in Salzburg to escape crowds and save money and take the train for 1 day in Munich. If you want to attend Oktoberfest, why not stay in Munich and visit Salzburg for a day? See www.hotel-uhland.de/enwelcome.html If you want to stay in Salzburg, see www.ammoos.at/main.php?language=en&m=home ((I)) |
