Calling all airline experts!!

I am looking at open jaw tickets arrive in Rome 10/18, depart from Florence 11/03. Delta seems to be the most convience for us and so for the best price based on airlines web sites. The flight leaving Florence is City Jet run by Air France with a layover in Paris. My question is when I went to look at the view seat option for the City Jet, every seat in coach shows it is reserved already. So is this telling me this portion of the trip is being over sold and I should not purchase these tickets? If I missed the flight out of Florence I would miss my transatlantic flight in Paris. Thanks for any guidance on this issue.

I think that you can't get seat assignments in advance, which is typically the case with intra-Europe flights, although I don't know about this one.

WillTravel is right. No seat assignements in advance in European flights.

Advance seat assignment depends on the airline and class of travel. If the seat maps shows all seats reserved, there will always be some seats left for assignment at airport check-in. Alot of European flights do have advance seat assignment available, especially if you are in business class or have purchased flexible economy tickets. Lower fares rarely have advance seat assignment.

Thank you all, I will go under the assumption that there is no advance seat assignment for that portion of trip and the class of ticket we have. Yes in Business class, it did show availiabilty for seat assignment. Thanks again :-)

Short flights in Europe have so many no-shows (businessmen) that advance seat assignment is meaningless.
