Callback blocked in France???

I thought I had it all figured out for my trip to France next month. I'm borrowing a Siemens A70 with a French SIM card (SNF) and I was planning on signing up with a Callback Service, (Callback world, Kallback, Telestial etc). I was about to post a question as to which one of these, or others are best. Now I'm not so sure.

I've recently seen a few posts that claim that Callbacks are a problem in France, specifically with SNF, as they may be blocking the service.

Any ideas???

Thanks

Oops, I mean SFR.

It blows hot and cold....I've had trouble there with SFR and other times I haven't. This past January I didn't but then again I was on Orange FR and not SFR.

Actually, though, callbackworld is pretty expensive to France something like 42¢/minute....callbackworld works real well with United Mobile, the international card where it's only 14¢/minute to call the USA. Also with United Mobile you can choose your roaming partner in France if SFR is pulling this garbage.

Alternatively, you can get a calling card say from Bizon....it gives you a local number to call in France and pay domestic French rates for the trigger call and then bizon's rate which I believe is 5¢/minute to call the uSA however.....

Some mobile providers in Europe block access to these numbers...I know Orange UK blocked access to the UK local number while I was in London last August...I don't know if SFR pulls this garbage or not.

We could not call the France Telecom International CC number, or their "within" France CC number with our SFR SIM Card.

If you are borrowing a France SIM card, make sure it has not expired yet. If you don't "recharge" the calling plan within 6 months of the last expiration (15 days to 120 days depending on which plan your friend last purchased), the SIM will expire & they will give the phone number to someone else.

Stu,

Actually the reason he's letting me borrow it is so the card will not expire. He returned from France last month.
