Calais to Zurich w/o Paris

There is a special thing IMO about going between Britain and the Continent by boat - seeing the White Cliffs of Dover and Dover Castle fade into the distance and similar but smaller white cliffs getting closer on the other side.

But takes a day long and there ain't much to see in Calais nor Dover.

Calais yes has done a lot to better its presentation yet still it is mainly a destination for day-tripping Brits - fine to stay there but unusual choice for average tourist.
