There's a distinct likeness to someone living....

Yeah, including a nose out of joint.

It looks more like the man 'who's name we do not speak' :) rather than Julius Caesar.

Did you hear about the archaeologists that uncovered an unknown ancient Roman statue's head or bust?
No? Of course not unless it was just a minor tidbit in a longer article or documentary.

But find statue head and say it was Julius Caesar's and not only that but was also done from a 'live sitting'*** and you have instant Fame!

And Fame gets you Worldwide PR and Worldwide PR gets you funding and a museum gets a World famous piece for its collection.

And for proof, well you just kind of make it up as you go along:).

On some history/archaeology blogs most seem to believe that they are just grasping at straws to make this fit their agenda.
Regards, Walter

***I believe there is only 1 considered 'live sitting' head sculpture of Caesar and even that one is very iffy.

I have a Polaroid live shot of Julius Caesar. Do I hear bids for it?
