Cabarets in Paris

We will be in Paris August 9th and 10th and would really like to attend a cabaret, but all the ones I've checked out are approx 90Euros per person. Is there a way to score lower price tickets? is there a cabaret that you would or would not recommend? Should I just forget about this?

You can go to Au Lapin Agile for 24 euro, one drink included.

I think these are considerably cheaper

The cabarets the OP is thinking of are quite different from those posted by Zeppole.. The first are the grand stage productions, the latter are smaller more old-style rooms - some of those links look more like a typical strip club than a stage/dance production.

The links I posted are to cabarets in the dance/stage style of naughty cabarets of yesteryear, and quite close to what one would have expected to find had one walked into the fictional Kit-Kat Klub of the muscial "Cabaret". One sees bare bottoms and near-bare breasts in the course of all the dancing and lots of costuming -- but it's not the Folies Bergere opulence. Here is a very good example of the dancing (don't look if you don't like naughty nekkidness) It's burlesque.

Some of the productions are much more elaborate, with can-can,

Aux Trois Mailletz is indeed more of a hodge-podge, more like a camp club.

There are lots of discounts for this sort of thing in August. A site like www.billetreduc.com will list the best deals. I think the Paradis Latin is known for slashing its prices when necessary.

If I am understanding correctly, the Cabaret des Filles de Joie is an act, not a venue. It appears that the act has been presented in various places on specific dates.

Yes, that's true Nikki. One would have see where they were in August by checking their website -- and it's possible they don't perform then.
