cab from cinque terre to pisa? cheap pisa hotel?

i'm flying out of pisa at 7am, but the hotel costs to stay that one night are insane. i'm thinking of staying an extra night in cinque terre and taking a taxi to pisa.. how much would that cost? are there any cheap alternative accomodations in pisa? thanks!

How are you defining "insane"?

taking the train to Pisa the day before and staying at an airport hotel i would think would be lots cheaper than a cab on the morning of the plane and you'd have to leave the 5 Lands about 3am!

What date? Where in the C.T.? What amount is "insane"?

I think the taxi fare would be insane - it
is a good 100 km. But I would be more worried about finding somebody who wants to drive you at that time of night. Then he has to drive back empty...

Find any old hotel around Pisa, it's just for one short night, and make sure you know how to get a cab in the morning - the cab from anywhere around Pisa to the airport can't be much, and you must be saving a ton on your flight or you wouldn't be in this predicament, so I'm sure you're still ahead of the game.

Where/how are you searching for a hotel in Pisa?

Hi crystal, if you go onto Google and just type in Pisa,Italy hotels you will see a lot of websites that have lots of hotels in Pisa with rates that are not insane IMO. I don't know what you are going to be paying in CT but I wouldn't want to take a taxi (what would that cost be?) from CT to Pisa for a flight out of Pisa that early in the morning.

Hi,
In pisa we stayed at centro storico, close to the train station for 2 it was 50 euros (for both) per night.
Here is the website:

You can catch the subway to the airport, but it changes tracks and takes a big 10 minutes to find the correct platform.
