BYOB in Turkish Restaurants
Many Indian restaurants in NYC that don't serve alcohol allow patrons to bring their own. Would this be acceptable in non alcohol serving restaurants in Istanbul? Any ifno would be greatly appreciated.

As Baldrick says, most restaurants used by tourists serve wine and beer. If a restaurant does not serve alcoholic drinks, then it would not be acceptable to bring your own. Turkey is a secular state and alcoholic drinks are widely available, but the majority of Turkish people follow a religion that does not approve of alcohol.

I have never been to any restaurant in Istanbul or Buyukada that did not serve alcohol. Where do you think you are going?
Go to Ortakoy, sweetie darling, and you will party like it's 1999. The jet set here will drink you under the table.

I'm not so sure. There are Indian restaurants here which don't sell alcohol for religious reasons, and I don't think they'd be happy if you brought some in. I wouldn't - I'd just stick to places that do sell booze !
