Starting this post under a new topic title -- hope that's okay.
Considering flying into Paris and out of Marseille after renting a car in Avignon and touring around Provence. I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible transportation-wise. What is the best way of getting to Marseille Airport from Avignon, after dropping off our car? Or is there a better place to drop off our rental car? Never been to France, don't know the language, and don't want to drive in Marseille.

Marseille airport is outside of the city and quite easy to access. Simplest would be to drop the car there. It would not be any more difficult than dropping the car in Avignon.

Are you planning to sightsee in Marseille? If not, just drop the car off at the Marseille airport. It doesn't require driving into Marseille (check the map). It's an easy drive, and the rental lots are right there across from the entrance to the airport, which is quite small.

Well, that's reassuring. Sounds pretty easy. We're not planning on sightseeing in Marseille -- just going home. Now to see if I can get the flights.
