Thanks Isabel. Great info not just for me but for other travelers as well researching this topic. The fact you were able to reserve seats on your tickets at trainline.eu in both OEBB Austrian trains and German Trains is also helpful.

I've seen travelers posting their worries that their tickets booked on OEBB website (reserved way in advance) had booking with no seat reserved. Because there is an option at OEBB to reserve seat and it's not an automatic thing. Travelers just assume that booking comes with a seat at OEBB but you have to click it.

Trainline.eu is very user friendly from my experience booking French TGV trains.

Hi, I just successfully purchased 2 tickets with seats from cd.cz. I opened an account first at the website. Very easy process. I used a visa credit card and I did call my card's customer service to informe them of planned foreign purchase from cd.cz.

Curious as to what you paid? Easy to select seat? Thanks!

I've bought tickets on the Czech rail website easily, there was nothing particularly difficult about it. Not sure what you mean about what azquart paid? There's no fee to use the website, of course, so the payment amount would depend on what ticket you buy. Yes, it's easy to pick a seat, you can either ask them to pick one automatically, or pick one yourself from a seat chart they show you of each car.

Yes I meant what she/he paid for the ticket not any service charge.
