Buying train ticket Cannes to Paris
I was going to buy via Raileurope until I saw there was a markup (and it may be too late anyway). So, should we have any problem buying a 2nd class ticket from Cannes to Paris on a Wednesday (9/6)? It appears there are several direct and connecting options available, I was just wondering if there's a risk the trains will be full. We will be in Cannes for 4 days before and can buy the ticket while we are there.

There are several TGV's running on the 6th, but you'll want to buy your tickets as soon as you arrive in France to make sure you can book a 2nd class seat. The trip is up to 5hr 47min long depending on which TGV you take.

Hi B,
Lucky you. They have put a new train on that route. You can take the 16:40 (arr Paris 22:01) direct train for only 49.90E 2cl or 68.90E 1cl. Less than 1/2 the regular price. See www.voyages-sncf.com ((I)) |
Adding to ira's post. Tickets for the 16:40 iDTGV are only sold online and you print them yourself. Book NOW if you want to be sure of getting them.
If that's too late in the day for you, then do what Robert2533 suggests and buy your ticket for one of the earlier trains as soon as you get to Cannes. |
Thanks for the quick feedback! I think the 16:40 is too late - we'll be anxious to get to Paris and will have had to check out much earlier anyway.
