buying tickets onine for french tgv trains from sncf website

Hi.
has anyone had any problems buying tickets online from sncf?
My girlfriend just tried to purchase return tickets from paris to avignon.
After the first attempt, they said the transaction did not go through so she tried again and had the same outcome.
Just after that her bank freud department contacted her and told her this company was taking money from her account .
So now she has no ticket but has paid for two return tickets.
We are in UK and it seems imposible to contact them directly.
We have sent them emails and are waiting for a reply but we would obviously rather speak to them by phone.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Does anyone know a direct contact phone number for them from the uk?
what do we do now?

any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance, Jamie

no, I've never had any problem. The fact that the bank contacted her just means they contact people with foreign transactions, that isn't that unusual. SOme of my credit cards do that, also (I assume she was using a CC or debit card related to that bank).

Are you sure it didn't go through? What kind of tickets were you requesting, those you print yourself or what.

BTW, if you are in the UK, why don't you contact them by phone? they have a phone number in the phone book and it couldn't cost that much. I think it is also listed on their website somewhere. Try looking in the phonebook under Eurostar if you want English.

Call this SNCF number : (+33) 892 35 35 39.
You will get an English-speaking operator.

Do you think that maybe it didn't go through is because the bank wouldn't release the funds due to it being a foreign transaction? Once the bank has been contacted, you can one-time authorize for a set amount, and even identify the party.
