Buying TGV tickets
How many months in advance I can purchase the TGV tickets? I know that to purchase PREM fare ticket I can only buy two months in advance prior my trip, but regular tickets?
I was trying to purchase a tgv ticket from Nice to Avignon leaving the 19th of September at three PM.,but I wasn't able to do it. Perhaps is too early to buy it? Usually Ipurchase the tickets few months before my trip. |
90 days? 3 calendar months?
|
It's three cakendar months so on 19 June you should see PREM'S for 19 September.
|
Why would you want to purchase them now anyway, when you can get the PREM fares 3 months (not 2) out from your travel dates? The savings can be enormous.
Anyway, French train schedules change at certain times of year, so it's probably just that the schedule for September isn't available yet. |
iDTGV tickets go on sale 4-6 months before any given departure date. Prices start at 19€ and increase as tickets are sold. Tickets are only available on line:
http://www.idtgv.com The SNCF has a free service that will alert you by email when PREMs become available (in French only): http://www.voyages-sncf.com/weblogic...0R%25C3%25A9sa |
ST.Cirq the reason is that I want to take the 3PM TGV to Avignon..
However, now I realize that perhaps the 3PM departure is not feasable because my flight from FCO land at 2PM .. Anyway, Thanks everyone for your suggestions.. Normally I depart from Nice/FCO but I never landed in Nice ,I wonder if I could make the 3PM TGV..? |
