buying SIGG products in paris

hi fodorites,

i'm a big fan of SIGG bottles and accessories ... but they're pretty pricey in toronto. i'm looking at buying the SIGG metro mug - insulated travel mug with a tight fitting lid. however, it's $42.99 at the local retailer here! and SIGG products are not easily located here.

anyway, since SIGG is a swiss company, i'm wondering if i might have better luck (price and selection) on the other side of the pond? i'm wondering if i can purchase SIGG bottles/mugs in paris? and if so, where can i find a large selection? i'll be there at the beginng of october.

thanks!!

lilaki

They've just started selling that brand in France. I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't get one at the airport, but they are sold at sporting goods/camping stores, Au Vieux Campeur in Paris carries them. You can see it from rue des Ecoles, it's a large complex of several stores (a few blocks east of bd St Michel, as I recall).

they sell for around 15-18 euro in France.

I bought some SIGG products in Switzerland itself, but the price was no different than at home in the US.

Still, I like and use the items a lot, and it's always nice to have practical souvenirs.

Have a look here;

Cheaper than your local retailer, and probably cheaper than in Paris.

Actually, it isn't cheaper than in Paris once you add on shipping charges and exchange rates (it is an American company), and is about the same as the Canadian retailer. A lot of companies won't even ship to Canada from the US (where this sells for around US$25). In fact, at USD $38 including S&H, that altrec site is almost the exact same price as the OP found locally (CAD $43). In Paris, 18 euro is about CAD28. I'd just buy it locally rather than online, if the price were equal, it's less risky.

There is something funny with some of those companies and they won't allow shipping to Canada of certain products, Sigg website itself where you can get it for US$25 mysigg.com won't.

Sorry I didn't notice the Toronto mention!

I'm sorry that some US companies are mean to our cousins to the north.

hi all,

tks for all the info ... i'd definitely like to check out some of the sources in europe as i think the selection might be a bit greater than what we have in toronto.

Hi liliki
I'm in Alberta and this morning I received a flyer for London Drugs which is a BC based company (they sell just about everything). On the front page is a picture of the SIGG bottles on sale for $14.99. I'm not sure if they are also showing online www.londondrugs.com but you could check. They do ship I believe.

hi decee,

thanks so much for the tip re: london drugs. i think i will wait till paris and see what i find ... the selection may be greater there.
