Buying Paprika in Budapest
 

Other than buying Paprika at the Central Market in Budapest,(incase I run out of time) where are other places that I can find it? We will be near the Chain Bridge. Thanks for your help.

Make sure you get the right one, They have sweet, mild, and HOT!!! You can find it everywhere in Hungary. Also make sure to check it for a date. I bought some and I didn't notice mine was use by 4/2004. I thought it looked brown instead of red after I opened it up. This was this past July. I'm leaving to go there this Monday May 22. I love miss and love Hungary so much. Have fun. When will you be there? I'll be heading home July 5th 2006. Alizka

I just went into the very tiny supermarket opposite our hotel [near the opera] and looked on the shelves til I found it. Not having found fodors at that time, i had no idea there were right and wrong sorts. Luckily it turned out to be red and fairly mild. I suspect that this is the most commonly available, so the corner shop is where I would go. Have fun.
