I love my Eagle Creek bag, which I've had for more years than I can figure (at least 15). Actually, my original bag was a 21." I've converted the rest of the family, so now we also have two 24" Eagle Creek bags. Several years ago, my original bag finally developed a problem - I don't exactly remember what it was, but I wasn't willing to give up the bag. So I called Eagle Creek, sent it to them (can't remember who paid shipping, probably them), and they fixed it, good as new, at no cost to me. I still use it.

We've never paid full Eagle Creek cost; we always found them, somewhere, on sale (including at REI, I think). Obviously, I've been very happy with the quality. The weight, wheels and how they set up the pockets have also worked well for me.

I swear by my Rick Steves 22". I got it because it's lightweight, but it has held up very well through numerous trips to Europe.

Recommend TUMI, since I never have to worry about problems. Had the wheels come off in Paris, the Store on Rus St Honore changed it and the related oparts that were scuffed, as well as cleaned it, and fixed some stiching that was loose. No charge, No questions.

That is the type of service that makes repeat customers.

The prior post, 9/26/07 was titled:
Best Carry-On brand? Price?

I've used my Eagle Creek Hovercraft
25" twice since the last post. I packed it according to their instructions and illustration. It continued to tip over no matter how it was packed.

Any suggestions about handling a return/refund? Should I deal directly with Eagle Creek? Or go back to the store where I purchased it?

Go for light-weight luggage! Airlines can be strict about luggage weight sometimes.

I am so happy with the 22" rolling carry-on size luggage that I bought on e-bags web-site. "Ricardo Beverly Hills" is the brand. Excellent! Mine has been to Italy, Ireland, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Washington DC...it refuses to wear out!

The luggage also has an expandable zipper in case you want to make it "fatter" and check it on. It is so sturdy...I bought one for each person in the family and it refuses to wear out! I bought the burnt orange color as it stands out in the luggage line. It's the Ricardo brand (luggage tag says Ricardo Beverly Hills). Get the lightest weight style! E-bags web-site shows you the weight of the luggage, and has guest comments too.

I also bought one of the Rick Steves rolling carry-on luggage, but mine didn't last well. It got a rip in only one trip! Maybe I was just unlucky, but I never bothered to return it...too much trouble.

merrytimes:

The "Spinner" design is all in the wheels. There are 4 small wheels placed at the bottom which can spin in any direction.

This design allows the traveler to simply "push" their luggage aside them instead of busting your back or arm by toting it by pulling.
