Buying Museum Passes In Florence
 

We are wanting to buy our passes to the Uffizi and Accademia museums in advance of our Sept. visit .
Does anyone know of a web site where we can do this ?
Is phoning them directly our only option ?

Last year we used www.florenceart.it. You can book and pay online.

you can do this on line, but the agencies who offer it add a hefty surcharge.

the phone line is very easy to use - you can book both museums at the same time. Once you are connected, you wil be asked it you want italian or english. Then there are a number of choices [ curiously in english and italain, even though you've picked the english option] before you get through to an english-speaking operator, who wil again address you in italian! but you just speak english to them and tell them what you what you want.

you should have worked out beforehand what days and times you want - tickets are available from 08.00 each day, I think. I would advise against trying to do both in the same day - we did this and wished we hadn't.

the other advantage to using the phone line is that you only pay when you pick up the tickets [from a well-hidden office opposite the entrance to the uffizi, and from the ticket office at teh accademia.]

011-39-055-294-883 then 2,4 for English speaking operator. I recently had good success calling just a few days ahead at about 9am Italian time.

Paying a 3rd party broker for a voucher offers no advantage as to getting in the door easier, waiting less, etc.
