Buying flowers in London?

I've been to London many times, but never had to buy flowers..

Heading there on Thursday night, a friend of mine is doing a show and I want to drop some flowers off at the stage door (as opposed to sending flowers through a florist..) Here in the states, most grocery stores sell flowers. I've never noticed if the same is true in London..while I'm pretty sure a Tesco wouldn't, would an M&S perhaps sell them? I'm thinking specifically of the M&S that's near Coven Garden (I think it's on Longacre?)

If not..any suggestions on where I will be able to pick up a bouquet? Nothing crazy expensive..

thanks!

How lovely. I always forget the flowers until I see someone else with them.
I saw flowers in a M&S and in one of the larger Tescos.

tesco, marks and spencer and every petrol station sell flowers but the quality is not great. M+S probably the nicest but I prefer to buy them on the street. Particularly in winter the shop flowers have been in a heated store all day and as soon as you take them into the cold the petals fall off. Watch out for a seller in the street.

Thanks! I'll keep and eye out for a seller on the street..otherwise it's good to know that I will be able to find some at M&S, Tesco, etc..

Can hardly wait to head back over the pond to what feels like my second home!

Agree with sashh. I wouldn't buy flowers from supermarkets if they are intended as gifts. You're most likely to find florist stands at major stations--the one at Charing Cross is quite nice.
Budget ranges from £15-30. You can either get a ready-made bouquet, or tell them the budget, colours, any particular flowers and come pick up 30 min or so later. UK does incredibly good, creative hand-tied bouquets!

There's a really good flower seller in Victoria Station if you'll be near there. Beautiful arrangements.

Marylebone Station has a fantastic flower shop near the main entrance. Tesco flowers are good quality and last ages. Marks &Spencer variable quality and more expensive. Don't buy roses- they are so disappointing- petals fall before you've enjoyed the flowers.
