Also, you can't just settle in NL for 6 months. Even if you have a Dutch passport. You'll have to register with the city office of records of the place where you settle. |

How?
http://germanexportplates.com/ https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizen...y/index_en.htm Using German Export Plates to buy a car in Europe No residency required Wix.com How one disposes of the car is a problem and I believe one cannot re enter Germany again. Zo kun je na aankoop met dit exportkenteken naar huis rijden, als je niet in Nederland woont. Het gebruik van deze kentekenplaten door Nederlanders in Nederland is STRENG verboden! The use of such license plates by Dutch nationals within The Netherlands is prohibited. https://www.automotiveimport.nl/impo...-moet-je-weten The options this site offers ARE legal in NL. |

Really? I have been thinking of moving back to the UK (dual UK/US citizenship) and it would never occur to me to register with any authority.
Even when you already live in NL and move to a new address, you have to give notice to the municipality. in Dutch: https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwe...rp-inschrijven |

I had similar questions and issues with trying to buy and insure a car in the uk, also dual passport Aus and UK. I ended up renting a car on a long term monthly rental with a local agency, leasing was more expensive. I can drive in uk for 12 months on Aussie licence, but even if I could find someone to insure me... Very few companies would...it was very expensive. I couldn't believe how difficult it was going to be to buy and insure a car over here. I kept thinking this can't be right, but it was, unfortunately. Good luck...
I am thinking of moving to the UK (dual UK/US citizen) and may begin with a 6 or 7 month test, March-September (ish) 2019. For that time, a long term monthly rental (while driving on my US license) would work well; to this point I had only been looking at leases, which are spendy. |
