Buy ski wear Geneva in Jan?

Can anyone please tell me if there is a good selection of ski clothing available in Geneva in early Jan? We don't want to bring it from Australia if we don't have to but I'm worried that it's the middle of the season and there won't be much available - jackets, pants and apres ski boots. Thanks, Melanie

Bonjour Melanie,

Early January is "soldes" (Winter sales) time, which means good shopping, including for ski gear. Good places to shop include Migros, Spengler (Balexert shopping center), Manor (near the station), Globus (more expensive but quite good quality, city center).

You will also find good bargains in nearby France (Carrefour, Migros, ...)

Hi Florence, that sounds great. It will have to be Geneva. I was worried there would be nothing left - we arrive Geneva Jan 2nd
- Melanie

Switzerland in January is great for ski clothes. C&A does good clothes cheaply. Then there are the Migros supermarkets and discount type stores. Then there is Globus. Then if you are stinking rich you can find the designer ski clothes shops. Whatever your budget Geneva is good - you can get more stylish clothes for prices even Americans dream about.
