We will be taking the bus from Split to Dubrovnik. Our hotel is near the hotel Hilton, which is close to the Pile Gate. Would we be within walking distance from our hotel ?

The bus will take you to the main station, and from there you will take the bus to the gate. The stop is just outside the gate, and there are several buses to Pile (the English speaking information desk attendants will point it all out to you).
Yes, from the Pile gate bus stop you can easily walk to the Hilton.

My husband and I are staying at Apartment Royal for 100 euros. I think it's new because they are still working on their website. His e-mail address is [email protected]. He will send you photos of his place if you request it. This hotel was recommended by the owner of the Peristi Hotel so I went with it. It's location is a 150 meters from the old centre.
