Cheers from Karlsruhe, Larry **waves**

The KVV website is indeed a bit confusing with the two tables of prices. So avoid anything that mentions "BahnCard", both on the website and on the ticket machines.

I'm not sure whether the ticket machines have an English version but I'll check that on my next visit to a tram station, which will probably take place tonight.

Wow! Amazing advice, always trust Fodorites to deliver

It seems that the 'host' business is planning some activities for the weekend...yuk! I have to find a way to avoid it so I can go explore on my own. Seems like a fascinating region.

Seems the Karlsruhe ticket machines don't speak any languages except German. So print this thread with Larry's list and take it along. ;-)
"Single ticket" is "Einzelfahrkarte",
"for adults" is "Erwachsene". If you don't get along, ask any intelligent-looking face at the tram stop.

We're planning a trip to BeNeLux and Germany in October, and this thread is great! (I'm saving it in my Fodor's file).

Thank you Larry & quokka for the valuable information....and marigross for posting the question.

Peace, Robyn >-
