Bus\Train help Italy

Does anyone know where I can find either the bus\train schedule from Salerno to Paestum?
Any other information would be appreciated.
Thanks

www.trenitalia.com for trains

www.sita-bus.com i think for buses - any search for SITA buses - the national bus thing all over Italy could yield schedules if you hit the right region.

There are several trains a day to Paestum from Pompeii and Salerno. Probably more buses.

There is train service at least once an hour between Salerno and Paestum. For timetables for nearly all of Europe, visit www.bahn.de. For timetables and fares for Italy, visit www.trenitalia.com.

hi Joanne,

I took the train from Salerno to Paestum last year. I believe it took just under an hour. Once you arrive at the station, though, it is a rather long walk to the site. Be sure to take some water with you.

My understanding is that the buses drop you off right at the site.

IMPORTANT: If you do take the train, be aware that you cannot buy a return ticket at the tiny station. There are no ticket sales there! You must buy your return ticket at the bar in Paestum before you walk back.

Buon viaggio!

Dayle - not wanting to hijack thread but i think she has the info she needed.

Q- i'm going out of my way to go to Paestum next month and i assume from my research that it's well worth it?

Your impressions in a nutshell would be appreciated. What about the town of Paestum - the modern town?
