Bus Tour or Drive.

Hello Everybody,

My boyfriend and I will be traveling to Spain for the first time, We are both fluent in spanish. I want to take bus tour and he wants to drive. We will be staying for 2 weeks, and I believe the tour starts in Madrid and ends in Barcelona. I am more intrested in Madrid, Seville. He is intrested in Barcelona and Ibiza (night life).

What would be our best deal??

Thank you and please feel free to email me..

Drive. You have so much more freedom to do what you want to do, when you want to do it. You can see more, go to more out of the way places. And yes, most of the bus tour crowd would be quite a bit older than you. If your boyfriend is willing to drive, let him. Brush up on your map reading to become a helpful navigator and have a great time.

Jessie, It is very easy to get around by driving and it gives you much more flexibility. Those bus tours often leave quite early and the night life in Spain starts late and runs into the early morning. I can't imagine sitting on a tour bus all day after just going to bed a few hours before.

Another option is to base in Madrid for part of the time and Barcelona part of the time and then jump on either the bus or train to do day trips in surrounding areas. This way you are on your own schedule but don't have to drive. Good luck.
