Bus Times and Durations
 

Hello everyone...

Less than four weeks till we go to Rome.

On the ATAC site, they have great maps and all the departure times from the beginning stop of each bus line.

However, I cannot find estimated times between stops along the way. This makes it hard for me to estimate how long the trip will take (and, consequently when I should get on).

Does anyone know whether that information is on the ATAC site?

For instance, I want to catch bus 70 at Torre Argentina and arrive at Termini (actually Turati/Fanti stop) at about 8:30 a.m. I need to know when the appropriate bus 70 stops at Argentina.

Just a hint for next time -- put ROME in your title if u want to attract Italy experts ... if u get no answers to this post, try again, using ROME in the title.

When you pull up a specific bus route, there are times on the right-hand side of the screen... but I don't quite know how to apply or interpret them.

The names of all the stops along the route are at the bottom of the screen. One way to 'estimate' is to apply, say 5 minutes, to each stop from your starting point to your ending point, then pad it a little.

Note that some routes have a slight deviation on weekends and holidays.

You can get the best route and duration here. Search by point of interest or switch to search by address. The map will come up and the directions will be to the right.

yes, we have the map and directions and which buses go there and so on.... but what time do you catch bus 123 in order to be at place ABC by 10:00am ?
What times or intervals do the buses on route 123 arrive at stop XYZ on Wednesdays?
That seems to be the tricky part to decipher.

I've never had to time a bus quite like that, so the best I can tell you is to go to the ATAC site, find your line and see how often it departs the first station - interval of 5, 10, 30, whatever mins. That's how the timetables run. Those are pretty accurate, but its almost impossible to say when exactly a bus will be at any certain stop.

In the box "trova linea" enter your route #, then click on andata o on ritorno and see the times it leaves the starting point. That will tell you how often it runs. Sorry, but that's the best I can offer. Good luck.
