Bus tickets in Haarlem Netherlands

I will be traveling to Haarlem from the airport by train and need to take a bus from the station to my hotel. How/where can I buy tickets without having to purchase an OV-chipcart?

We just paid on the bus with our credit card. We loved Haarlem. Enjoy your trip.

There are direct express buses to Haarlem from Schiphol - train is longer and demands a change - the bus from Schiphol runs largely on separate right-of-way and goes right into Haarlem's centrum and may well stop near your hotel - much much quicker and easier.

My hotel, Nui Dairy, is a 2 minute walk from the raacksburg stop. The 300 no longer stops at raacksburg so I'd have to pick up another bus anyway. Since I have a continuous global pass so I might as well take the train to Haarlem and the 340 to raaksburg stop.

Does this make sense or am I reading google maps incorrectly

It is only 5 minutes walk from where the the 300 stops to your hotel, so unless you have a ton of luggage that makes the most sense, and will cost you only €4.17

Plus bus in Haarlem will cost a euro or so. Why activate pass unless you can't use extra day.

Thanks for your help. We only have one roller each plus a backpack so not a lot of luggage. Our pass is a 30 day continuous and will be good for our entire stay.

but, that being said, all options presented should work without making myself crazy

You will have to change trains at Amsterdam-Sloterdijk - at least I always did when I had a pass - no real problem as lifts and escalators.

Sloterdijk was the first of the "new" NS stations: very easy to see where you need to go, as you can see right through to where you need to go. However, the lifts are in an out of the way location. You really need to look for them. They're way back, almost behind the shops.

Escalators are handy though:

Perfect! Escalators work for us. Google also had hoopsdrf as an alternative, but sloterdijk looks like the best change point for us .

Looking forward to our arrival in the Netherlands next week. Also happy to see that the heat wave appears to be over. We travel in the summer to get away from the southwest Florida heat

No Hoofdorp is not an alternative as trains from there according to www.bahn.de/en go via Sloterdijk or Leiden where you must change so two changes.

Important to know that. Thank you so much

That is the fare when you use a personal or anonymous ov-chipcard. A BTM-ticket from Schiphol to Haarlem costs 6 euros. (https://connexxion.nl/reizen/1190/bu...tm-ticket/5161)

Only when you use a personal or anonymous ov-chipcard a bus trip within Haarlem might be that cheap. A single ticket bought in the bus in Haarlem costs EUR 2.32. (https://connexxion.nl/reizen/1190/re...em-ijmond/4146)
