Bus from London to Oxford
My 19-year-old stepdaughter is taking a summer drama course in Oxford and will be spending a few days in London first.
What is the easiest way for her to travel to Oxford and arrive near the university? Does the bus from London stop near this location and, if so, which stop would be best? |
The bus is called the Oxford Tube. See this site: www.oxfordtube.com.
|
There is no single university campus in Oxford. Buses from London go to Gloucester Green bus station, which is in central Oxford.
Can I suggest that your stepdaughter asks the course organisers for travel directions to where she'll be studying (and staying, if they're organising it, otherwise, she should contact the people she'll be staying with). |
How amazing is the power of the internet! Within five minutes of posting, I already have replies. Many thanks to both of you.

There is a second bus company, called the Oxford Espress (yes, spelled that way!). It is similar to the Oxford Tube.

Both the Oxford Tube and Oxford Espress run from the central station at Gloucester Green to Vic. Station, London.
However, both make a number of stops in Oxford. As already mentioned, Oxford comprises a number of colleges situated through out the city so we need to know which college she will be attending before we can suggest the best place to catch the bus. |
yes - there are colleges spread all over Oxford - so it is important to know where she is actually headed . . . .
