Bus from Heathrow to Woking.

Really two questions. From terminal 3 at 12:45 afternoon, how long of a walk to the Central bus station at Heathrow? Second, I am thinking of taking the train to Wool, Dorset from Woking. Is it a large station like the London ones or more like the ones in York, Durham or Carlisle? Thanks.

Do you mean woking station? if so it's a small one with (from memory) 4 platforms.

Wool Station is very diddy indeed.

While i hope others will confirm or debunk this, i believe the Central bus station at Heathrow terminals 1, 2 and 3 - one bus terminal for all three is right outside the north entrance to terminal 3? Anyway it's a short walk.

The central bus station is more or less on top of the T1-3 tube station. It's a different place from the T3 bus station.

From exiting Customs, it takes me about 5 minutes to the central bus station. With luggage a bit longer, as you might prefer to get the lift up to the surface, and it often takes as long to wait as it's taken to walk from a terminal.

T3 arrivals is usually pretty crowded with greeters, so allowing for shoving time, finding the signs, walking through the underpass and waiting for a lift, can be up to 20 mins.

In addition to the unpredictable time from touch down to getting out. I managed 15 mins, including collecting a checked case, the other day. But it's taken 75, and even with a British passport I'd usually assume 45 mins.

So expect to be at the bus stop an hour after touch down, but plan on the assumption it'll be a bit longer. With checked bags, non-European passport, flying in the back and unfamiliarity with the airport, safest to assume 90 minutes, all included.

Thanks for the replies. I have flown into Heathrow terminal 3 a few times and usually take the Heathrow Express train, my question, is that the same route you would walk going to the Central bus station? Withhout checked baggage I have managed to get to HEX platform in about 45 minuted from the time the plane pulls up to the gate.
