You're right bilboburgler. Domaine means something like estate, domain.

Olivier is the son of the foundator Joseph Leflaive. You can find their history here http://www.leflaive.fr/fr/

BILBO:
"Domaine" certainly would make a very unusual first name. I was actually referring to Vincent Leflaive who enhanced the legacy of Domaine Leflaive since 1953. I should have not equate Vincent with his Domaine.

COCO:
Just to clarify, there are 2 Joseph Leflaive's.

I think Domaine Leflaive was founded by Olivier’s grandfather,
Joseph Leflaive over a century ago. When Joseph died, his son Vincent Leflaive took over the Domaine.

Much later, Vincent put his nephew Olivier (son of Joseph Leflaive Junior) to work at the Domaine where he honed his wine business skills. In 1984 Olivier started his own wine business and left the Domaine.

Something that I just learned: Vincent has died and the Domaine is now run by Vincent's daughter Anne Claude Leflaive.

Here’s a couple of websites to clear up the confusion:

Olivier seems to be a very nice man who still seems to get the women's hearts fluttering. I've only met him twice, once in France and once in the Uk and he recognised me the second time straight away!

I think his restaurant/tasting idea is a clever idea but a trifle expensive but of course I would as I live in Yorkshire (like a scotsman but with the generousity taken out)

If you are interested in art and architecture be sure to visit the Hotel Dieu in Beaune. The building and history are very interesting and Van Der Weyden's Last Judgement is spectacular.
Autun with its beautiful cathedral and other medieval architecture and Roman remains would make a nice day trip from the Beaune/Dijon area
