Burgundy or more days in Provence?

I am thinking of driving from Paris to Provence. Do you think that it is worth stopping by at Burgundy or should I go direct to Provence?

Depends on what interests you. Do you want to visit the tiny winemaking villages around Beaune and Dijon or tour through the great vineyards? You can do winetasting at Beaune and other towns. Is it worth stopping at one of the world's finest wine producing areas? Yeah, I think so. Decide what it is that interests you and then do those things.

You posted earlier having only 6 days for this trip, including the return to Paris.

There are great sights to see in Burgundy, and in 2 days you could cover the magnificent cathedral at Autun, the Basilica at Vézeley, the ancient Abbaye de Fontenay, Beaune, and the fine arts museum in Dijon. All that plus the beautiful Burgundian scenery and wine villages, if those interest you for tastings.

Take the train and stay in Provence, particularly if you have only 6 days total.
