Bunratty Overnight Help Please

Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent overnight stay in Bunratty before flight out? Looking at B&B's but not sure which might be better since I cannot find much information on any. Better off going with a hotel? Something within walking distance of Nellie's would be best. Becoming a little discouraged with false testimonials!

Lots of places in Bunratty, but not in walking distance of Durty Nellies. Do a search of Bunratty and you will find lots of great recommendations. We like the Bunratty Lodge, but there are lots of nice, decent, charming B&B's in the area. Walking distance? That's a push.

Have a look at two B&B's which will solve your problem
www.iol.ie/~bunratty and
http;-homepage.eircom.net/~bunrattygrove
Could I also recommend the following:
www.shannonreegiontourism.ie and click on 'Clare' and then go to 'Bunratty'
If you want to see what is on offer in the shops across the street go to
www.blarney.ie
and finally if you want to see that bargain in the duty free shop in Shannon Airport go to
www.airportshopping.ie
Enjoy you stay and safe travelling.

Sorry,
I notice that I have an extra 'e' in the web site above, it should read
www.shannonregiontourism.ie
I also note that the full adress of the guesthouses is not highlighted, be sure and type in ~bunratty and ~bunrattygrove.

Well, it is not the cute romantic place you envision for your last night, but we stayed at the Great Southern Hotel right at the Shannon airport. It was nice because it was literally walking distance to our gate. You could turn your car in the night before and be all set. The hotel was nice too.

This may be the most talked about topic on the Ireland forum. My two cents worth as always is Innisfree B&B, a mile down from the Bunratty parking lot. Large rooms with T.V. a good breakfast, this will be my fourth year in a row on my last night. By the way, have a drink at Nellies but if you walk across the street you have better food at the Creamery or Kathaleens Pub. Have fun.

We have stayed in Park House and Ashgrove House down the Low Road and walked to Durty Nellie's from both. (Actually, we walked to Mac's in the folk park because we don't care for Durty Nellie's.)

Anyway, we did this off-season both times, and the road is very dark. I mean pitch dark. (If you are going during the season, you will have daylight much longer.) If you think you may walk, take a flashlight!

We stayed at Dunaree not far from the castle and Nellie's four months ago. It was our last night before flying out - we loved it! Great sleep, wonderful breakfast, easy drive to airport in the am - we will definitely stay again!

We are also booked to stay at Dunaree in May - they indicate it is within a five minute walk of the castle so sounds ideal for Nellies.
