Less than a day to go for Spain. I, of course, will forget 99% of my Spanish when I arrive and will be clutching my purse to my side. It's my first trip alone to a non-English speaking country and now i have second thoughts. But everything's booked so I'll just have to take a deep breath. Will try to post trip reports if the Wifi holds up and anyone's interested.

Enjoy and have fun! Remember to use the same caution you would at home and you should be ok. I don't leave for Spain for another 7 months so will live through you until then.

I'm leaving for Spain Monday 3/27. Also solo. You'd be surprised how much of that Spanish will come back to you once you're there. I felt that the 3 weeks I spent there last year really improved my Spanish.

The Spanish are very gracious when you try to speak their language.

I had the same fear about using my Spanish and my trip went great!! I understood and was understood. Have fun!!
