Budget Hotels in Florence and Rome

Hi,

Can anyone help out with Budget hotels in Florence and Rome?? I was looking into a B&B that was suggested in Florence, but it booked up before I could secure a room. We'd like someplace clean and nice but not too expensive where we can come and go as we please. Any ideas??

Thanks!

Hi Pebs,

Are you referring to the Peterson?

Are they also booked up in their other facility?

They are looking and said they would get back to me. I think they may have something on hold that they are not sure about. Very nice people. I am hoping that works out but want to check into other places to be safe.

Well, I am very pleased for them that they are booked up, but I hope that you are able to stay there.

Take a look at http://www.artbedandbreakfast.com/

I can recommend the Hotel Desiree (www.florence.ala.it/desiree/). It's about a block away from the train station but on a quiet street, walking distance from everything. It's a small hotel in a large old building with several other hotels. Has AC, breakfast, etc. I would definitly stay there again. I found a rate on a booking site that was less than their own site and emailed them and they gave me that rate. I stayed there last July.
