Budget Hotels
 

Hi,

We're from south east asia and Its our 1st trip to Europe this May. We weren't sure where would be the best place to stay and would love if you travel gurus are able to advise on hotels. As we'll be out exploring the city most of the time, thus we would prefer not to spend so much on hotel. we're please with a clean basic room with own bathroom with an area near the metro so it would be convenient for us to travel.

i m looking at the below cities :-

Rome- 3 nights
Venice - 2 nights
Milan - 2 nights
Nice - 2 nights
Paris - 3 nights
London - 3 nights

We are please to accept any other suggestions...

'not so much' means different things to different people. What is you actual budget for accommodations - how much do you want to spend per night?

Just a note - that is a very ambitious plan. Cities like London, Paris and Rome are very large and have MANY major sites. 3 nights does not mean you have 3 days since you lose about 1/2 a day whenever you move cities.

So you only have 2.5 days in Rome, Paris and London and about 1.5 days in the other cities. I'd consider cutting one or more cities from you plan.

yes, we understand that the above cities are a lot to cover in 3 weeks. These are all just tentative plans, nothing is confirmed yet till hotel is booked. we are now gathering as much info as possible before we finalise on the trip.

we will be arriving in Rome early morning by flight and plan is to travel by train between these cities and flying out from London back to South East Asia.

We're hoping to find a clean hotel with central location near Metro at around 80Euros. Is that possible?

You should consider dropping a city or two so you don't spend more time on trains traveling between cities than actually visiting the cities. I would drop Milan and Nice from this itinerary and fly to Paris on one of the budget airlines from Venice which will be cheaper than a train.

Tripadvisor.com is a useful website for finding accomodations. You can find the room rates and read reviews of the hotels.
When you find a hotel that interests you, use google map search and the streetview feature to see what the hotel and neighborhood looks like.
