Budget hotel athens near Syntagma square

Could anyone list some budget hotels near Syntagma square around 125 USD. Looking for clean and safe hotel as we will be out all day and dont want to pay for luxury.
This will be for 4 nights early June. How hard is to get a room after arrival at the airport this time of the year? Thanks .

Here are two to consider. There are a number of hotel reservation sites that sell these hotels at a price within your budget range.

The first is the Hotel Arethusa:

Another page with rates is:

The second is the Hotel Amazon:

Because the Amazon was booked up for
the day he arrived a friend stayed
at the Arethusa. The room he had
he described as a dump and he couldn't wait to check out in the morning.

We checked into the double I had reserved at the Amazon and although
I thought it was plain but adequate he was overjoyed in comparison to
his previous night's lodging.

Maybe he just had the bad luck to get a poor room at the Arethusa.

The next day we moved into a much nicer room with a stunning view of the Acropolis.

All in all our stay at the Amazon was fine. There's a decent and friendly cafe right across Mitropoleos and Thanassos the waiter
is a nice guy.

Hope this helps.

Rob

very helpful..thanks. We are finding that most hotels do not have a room for Sat night. May have to just book ahead from Sunday for 3 nights and try our luck for Sat on our arrival.
