Budget Help Please
 

Howdy Folks,
I'm trying to put together a "daily spending money" budget for a three week Italy trip. I'd love some feedback as to a comfortable daily dollar amount for two people who want to see the sites, eat well, enjoy a nice bottle of wine etc. at the following locations (initial guestimate in parenthesis):

Venice ($200/day)
Bologna ($150/day)
Manarola in the CT ($100/day - need to buy breakfast here)
Florence ($150/day)
Siena ($150/day)
Rome ($200/day)

Any thoughts?

I should mention that breakfast comes with all of our accomodations with the exception of Manarola.

It depends upon what you mean by eat well.

Italy has some of the best food in the world at all price points (have only found some disappointments in Venice - since the tourists so outnumber the locals).

But - do you mean good casuale food, or good more sophisticated food or good upscale food. For the latter - and name wines - your budgets are too low. One dinner could easily be more than that. For a mix of casuale and a little nicer you can eat very well for that.

I was thinking of good authentic local food, not necessarily upscale, with the possible exception of a dinner at La Pergola in Rome near the end of the trip.

Living in the middle of New York City, I can get the upscale stuff at any time...I want the Italian grandma cooking her secret recipes.
