Budget Accomodation in Austria??
Please recommend cheap, clean, central/accessible accomodation in the following cities;
1 - Vienna 2 - Salzburg 3 - Hallstatt 4 - Heiligenblut 5 - Hall/Innsbruck I am travelling alone and I would like to keep my average accomodation budget below 40-50 Euros/day for the 15-18 days I will be in Austria around early september, 06. Thanks. Sikki |
Hi,
For Innsbruck/Hall our favorite place is Gasthof Badl, Hall in Tirol. www.badl.at We've stayed there on 3 seperate trips. The place is very nice, reasonable, good restaurant, extremely convenient to old town of Hall (walk) and Innbruck by train or bus (a few minutes). Oh, and the people there are wonderful! Ask for a room with balcony! Paul |
Salzburg- the best western very nice hotel great breakfast and a ten minute walk from the town. i paid 65 euros for a walk in rate.

There is a slew of awesome B&B's along Moostrasse in Salzburg. Easy public transport into town. Try www.ammoos.at or www.privatvermieter.com/haus-ballwein/
I can personally reccommend both. Cheers, the turnip |
I can suggest a place in Heiligenblut:
Landhaus Christoph run by the Kramser Family. It is small and in a very quiet area down the hill from the main part of the village. We enjoyed our stay there. Frau Kramser was very hospitable. Her son Johannes was 4 at the time and, for some reason, he decided to tell my wife his secrets. She of course had no idea what he was talking about, but that did not bother him. He would jump in her lap, whisper in her ear, giggle, and run off. He must be a big boy by now, but the guesthouse is what I would call a B and B. We had a small breakfast and ate our other meals elsewhere, such as the very good Post Hotel. http://www.tiscover.at/at/guide/5787...91at/home.html |
Seems like you have already posted this question once and I provided an answer about Hallstatt and Hall.

I bid on Priceline for a hotel room in Vienna a couple of years ago. It was central and quite reasonable.
