Buddha Bar?

Hi all! I am really new on the forum and am planning a first trip to Italy and Paris next May with my lovely daughter.

Alseniore posted earlier, and mentioned a "Buddha bar". Can anyone tell me what it is?

Thanks so very much for all the tips I have gotten from you already!

A big restaurant/bar on the rue Boissy D'Anglais in Paris. It's one of the be-seen places to go. It's a short walk from the Concorde metro stop. I'm sure you can google it. Happy Travels!

Buddha Bar became famous for producing its own soundtracks of house music.

I was there in May 2007. It is pretty cool - 20' high gold Buddah on the floor of the 2 story room. Drinks are expensive - $25 for a Bellini type drink.

Depending on your daughters age, if she is late teens, 20 something, she would probably enjoy it, mine did, but that was during fashion week, I went yesterday as well. It now has a reputation as a hangout for rich "Russians", can not verify that though, you know who has thew money nowdays.

Most stores that sell CD's like Barnes and Noble, Border's etc. have large Buddha Bar sections usually under dance music. They are called Buddha Bar I, II, III, IV, etc. and consist of 2-CD box sets of very international, ethnic, disco-type music with an incredible beat at times and almost classical jazz at other times sometimes singing in spanish, french, Indian and Middle Eastern languages. I am an avid classical music lover, but these people know how to make any stereo system sound great!
